TGIF with Pooja - Birthday card

Hi friends! Its Pooja here!
Well have you applied for the Social Media co-ordinator yet ?
If not consider it ! We would love to have you on board! J

So today I have a birthday card to share.
It’s a simple but layered square card.
I have used Little darlings flowers for you stamp here.
I coloured it using alcohol markers. Usually I colour only the skin and sometimes hair with my markers but this time I went all in and coloured the dress too.

I hope that you can see the shading in the hair and the dress.
I really loved it. I have used pink and peach for the dress.
Skin is vanilla with soft peach for the cheeks and shading.  Do check out the copics collection at our store here
I also have some random embossing done with embossing powder in white and gold.
Check out that tiny flower at the bottom! it’s from Petite daises soft touch collection.

The two big flowers are totally handmade.
I have used distress inks for colouring them.
The leaves are cut from a sizzix die-Strip spring greenery and coloured with alcohol markers.
You can see the tulle peaking around from the corner too J
I have used some large pollens and glittered them for that added sparkle.

Hope you liked this card.
Thanks for tuning in this Friday , I will see u soon another Friday!
Cheers !

TGIF with Pooja - Simple Pleasures Floral Layout

Hi everyone!
Its Pooja again! I am really excited to share my first 12 x12 Layout with you all!
I have recently started scrapbooking and for the start I always went for 8 X 8  or a 6.2 X 6.2 Inches size as it was much easier for me to work with .
So while doing this Layout (LO) I was pretty nervous as to how it will turn out!
But I have to tell you it totally paid off!
Here is my LO

Well what do u think?
I started with just this picture of a flower arrangement I had photographed on one of our trips to Europe.
This is how I like to work on a LO, when you are not using a sketch, or a colour palette, select a picture and go for the colours in that picture!
So as you can all see I have taken the 3rd option of working with the picture.

Since my photo was floral, I decided to use all my flower power! These lovely blooms are by Itsy Bitsy.
I will be linking the collections below. I smuggled in some of my handmade flowers in too :)
The ones in white in the corners

The butterflies here are stamped, coloured with pencils and then drawn over with a waterproof black gel pen for that striking dark effect!
The sentiment says “Simple pleasures” and Its hand written.

Here are some water colour drips I created underneath my floral arrangement.
I have also used Gesso for creating the splatter and also there are various sizzix damask die cuts that are adhered to the background with gesso.

It is always fun to play with different elements that go together when making a LO.
I used Shell buttons, black thread , mini sequin and mesh cloth (gauze) here.

This is the lovely sizzix baroque ornament die that I adhered to the background with gesso before placing the embellishments!

I really love how this LO turned out! I hope u did too
