A Scrapbook Layout with Ribbons, Doilies and Flowers!

Scrapbooks are a great way to preserve memories for years to come. There are a variety of popular layouts but by far my favorite is an off center frame surrounded by embellishments. I've been conceptualizing this arrangement for some time in my head and finally it took shape.

I started with an adorable pattern paper from Itsy Bitsy and created this ribbon grid effect using the Sew Ribbon tool. The Sew Ribbon tool makes ribbon lacing SO easy and I completed this frame in no time. Then I got to work on the off center frame. I started with one of Itsy Bitsy's gorgeous doilies... Love love LOVE them and then filled the sides with the never fail Itsy Bitsy embellishments - Boutique Elements flowers. I finished it off with a bright big bow... my speciality and my layout is done. I'm actually quite reluctant to fill the empty space with a photo, it looks so lovely just the way it is! Haha. Here are some close ups of the different elements of the layout.

If you would like to see the Sew Ribbon tool in action, be sure to watch our YouTube video demonstrating how easily you can lace ribbon through paper or card stock. Also we are celebrating Women's Day with a storewide sale of 20% off. Check out the amazing savings for the supplies I used on this project all provided at the end of this post!

Scrapbooks are great fun because you have a large space to work with and you can incorporate multiple themes, styles and other elements within. Have you done one lately? Would love to have a look. Leave a comment and let us know!

Till then Happy Crafting!

Finally to see how I created this card, be sure to check out this video tutorial that provides a complete walkthrough of how I put the bow together, cut and colored the cupcakes and created the embossed cupcake design.

The First Annual ItsyBitsy Craft Awards 2012-2013

It's the month of March and award season is in play. The Oscars just finished, the Golden Globes and Emmys as well. In keeping with this tradition we at ItsyBitsy are all set to start a brand new tradition of our own. So without further delay, I am thrilled to announce the First Annual ItsyBitsy Craft Awards to celebrate craft for the year 2012-2013!!

We have loads of categories, oodles of prizes and the best part is that your peers will be involved in the winners list. Here are the guidelines:
  • All participants can enter not more than ONE project in each category, as long as they comply with the requirements of that category.
  • We want to recognize the very best projects of the year. You must select your very best work of the year gone by (1.3.2012 till 31.3.2013) and enter it into the contest. This is one occasion when backlinking is permitted
  • You may also create a new project for each category but bear in mind that you can only enter one so the one that you enter must be your very best creation.

  • You will have until March 25th 2013 to submit your entries.

  • Under each category will be a LINK tool. Click on the link button and you can submit your entry there.

  • If you don't have a blog or online gallery, you may send your entry via email to  itsybitsycraftcontests@gmail.com. Please mention the category for which you are entering your project. We will then add it to the gallery on this page.

  • From March 25th to March 31st 2013, we will open the gallery to voting. During this time you can invite your visitors, friends and fellow crafters to vote for their favorite project in each category.

  • On March 31st, the five entries with the most votes will be selected as the nominees for each category and reviewed by our panel of judges to select a single winner for each category.

  • Winners will be announced in the first week of April 2013
  • All winners will receive a voucher from ItsyBitsy for Rs 1000 and a winners badge.

  • The nominees in each category who missed out on the winning spot will receive a 'Nominee badge' and a gift voucher from ItsyBitsy for Rs. 250.

  • Entries are welcome from all over the world however in case you are selected as a winner and receive the Rs. 1000 voucher, shipping will only be made to Indian postal addresses as from a legal perspective, it is extremely complicated for us to ship internationally.
