Little Birdie Matt Chalk Acrylic Paints on Mixed Media Cards

Hello friends
As you know I experimented with the Little Birdie Chalk paints on various surfaces such as Glass, Bamboo and Cardboard in my earlier posts see here and here. For today's post I decided to try the chalk paints on card stock.

I took a 6" x 12" piece of card stock for both the cards. For the first card, I used the FROZEN ICE , RAINY DAY  and SNOW and with a stiff brush randomly covered the top half of the card stock.....stenciled with Irregular Dots stencil from the store and BUTTERNUT SQUASH chalk paint .......

For the second card, I used BUTTERNUT SQUASH, RAINY DAY and SNOW as base and with a stiff brush randomly covered the card stock.....stenciled with Irregular Dots  stencil from the store and a flourish die cut and FROZEN ICE chalk paint .......Die cuts cut from Floressa Sizzix die....

I cut thick card stock with Sizzix Mariposa Bigz die which I bought in the recent sale ..........

The leaves were cut with Garden Greens Die......

All the die cuts were colored with water soluble crayons .....The cards are top folding 41/2"x 6" . The panel was stamped with a texture stamp and splatters added with Charcoal and Driftwood shades....

Butterflies were randomly stamped with a text stamp and edged with Archival black ink , did some doodling with a white Uni-ball pen to add some more detail and mounted on a blue and white Bakers twine.......

The flowers and leaves were stamped with archival ink and text stamp. Then added printed sentiment on a strip of paper with twine which I added to create a window box for the flowers........

I do hope this inspires you to give chalk paints a try on different surfaces , they work beautifully on wood, paper, glass, cardboard, burlap , fabric and canvas.......

you still have time to send in your creations for the Anything Goes using Little Birdie Matt Chalk Acrylic paints contest .... Keep playing!!!
