Bedazzled with sequins

Hello, Friends... Anila Dikay here...

I am here at the IB blog today doing a guest design post with the newly launched Sequins Medley. Before I begin with my post I would like to thank Rashmi, Anitha and Team IB for entrusting me and giving me this awesome opportunity to do a GD post on the blog.

Itsy Bitsy recently launched 6 shades of Sequins medley. I was sent all these six colours along with the texture tack glue. The sequins are versatile and come in handy transparent bottles.

Friends, Please bear with this long and picture heavy post....Once started, I just kept on playing with the sequins and I could not help but include it all in this post. Being a major cardmaker I have used the sequins majorly as the shaker elements. But the sequins are really versatile as I said and can add great elements to mixed media projects too. Soon I would try my hands at another form of using them.

Now over to my projects.

Shaker cards

Here is a set of two shaker cards.
I have used the Gold Fizz and the Angel wings sequins here respectively.

For both the cards, I began with colour texture papers from my stash and die-cut them with a stitched circle die. Attached the acetate sheet and mounted foam adhesives on this panel. I die-cut a contrast coloured circle ring and adhered it around the circle. On a white cardstock, added the sequins and mounted the coloured panel over it. For the blue card, I stamped a sentiment before adding the shaker elements. Lastly, added some sentiments, critters and few sequins to complete the cards.

(Individual pics of the card follows.)

Thank you tags

A set of two shaker tags using the Pink sherbet and Blue Dazzler sequins.

For the tags, I used stitched circle die-cut rings mounted over die-cut patterned papers with foam adhesive, stuck after adding the sequins. I added a hole-punched strip of paper to hold the ribbons. Tied coloured ribbons. Lastly added a sentiment and white heat embossed butterfly to the tags.

  (Individual pictures follow)

Shaker bookmarks

Made a set of 3 bookmarks using the Purple Pizzazz, Blue Dazzler and Pink Sherbet sequins.

These bookmarks are made using the Scalloped circle dies from the store. I die-cut the circles and the rings with the smaller two dies. Attached acetate sheet to the rings. mounted the rings on the circles with foam adhesive over shaker sequins. Lastly added coloured U-pins from the backside of the circles with Silicon glue.

 Few more pictures ;-)

Handmade book
I used the Purple Pizzazz for this.

A handmade book/diary. I made this using a thick cardstock. Scoring and folding it into the half with a 1/4" thickness in the centre. Attached ribbon and covered this paper with purple paper from Aquarelle paper stack. Die-cut a rectangle from a solid coloured cardstock. Cut a window on the rectangle, attached the acetate sheet. Mounted this rectangle on the book base with foam adhesive over the shaker elements. Added a sentiment. Stuck a bunch of papers in the central 1/4" gap.

Here's another look of the book.

Shaker tags

For these tags, I used the Chocolate Flakes sequins.

(Clicked the photos twice with different BG so that the effect is much more visible)

I took two ready tags and adhered glitter gold and silver washi tapes at the edges. Covered the tags with textured cardstock. Mounted critters and sentiments on the tag with foam adhesives. For the shaker, I have used the ready seal plastic bags. I inserted the tag in the bag, added sequins and sealed the open side. Lastly punched a hole through the plastic and tied ribbons to the tag. (Sorry for the glare... Couldn't avoid it)

Initial Block
I used the Blue Dazzler sequins for this.

This is the last part of my post.

I started out with cutting a cardboard initial alphabet. Next stuck the sequins in a linear fashion by alternating the shades of the sequins. This set has various shades of blue. This process was a highly time-consuming. But somehow, after all, was done, I didn't mind the amount of time I spent time over this. I really loved the outcome. Next, I took an empty box of tea sachets. Covered it with blue chalk paint. Stuck a pattern paper on the lower half. Attached ribbons all around the sides of the box. Lastly mounted the sequined Initial with foam adhesive over the box.

Thank you, friends, for all your patience and sticking to it till the end ;-)

It was real fun and enjoyable making these projects with the sequins Medley collection.
Hopefully, you too enjoyed and liked my projects equally.

Would really love to hear feedback from you all.

Thank you, IB team once again.
